DENTAL NURSE COURSES
The Deanery will continue with its programme of courses for
meeting the training needs of unqualified dental nurses in
the London Deanery. Places are limited and applications will
be accepted strictly on a first come basis.
The General Dental Council announced that all front line health
care staff should be registered within two years of the Dental Care
Professionals register opening on the 31st July 2006. Dental Nurses will
be able to work unregistered until 30th JULY 2008. After this date, it will
be ILLEGAL to work as a Dental Nurse without holding appropriate GDC
registration.
The programme not only teaches trainee dental nurses to pass the
National Dental Nurse Exam (NEBDN is a registrable qualification with
the GDC), but is also geared at raising standards of Infection Control,
Health and Safety and dealing with emergencies in a health care
environment.
Course programmes will run at the following centres. For applications
